                                                                         Small Group Information
One of the ways we seek to help people "live real life" is through a  ministry of small groups. We call them "Life Groups".
Sign up for a life group can be found under our Calendar/Events section.

Life Groups
life (lif) n. A source of vitality; an animating force; the quality that distinguishes the living from the dead.
The scriptural formula for a church is simple, yet powerful. Celebrate Jesus with the crowd. Come together for relationships and ministry in small groups.

This is our vision for Life Groups. This is our passion at CNCC. Life Groups generally range between three to fifteen members. They meet weekly in area homes, restaurants and businesses. Life Groups incorporate worship, fellowship, teaching, discussion and prayer so you can mature and grow as a Christian. Join one of our many Life Groups today!

Biblical Basis for small groups
1.    In the beginning . . . (Genesis 2:18)   The first thing that God said
was not good was for man to be alone.
2.    Covenant community (Gen 9:17; Ex 19:5-6; 2 Sam 7:5-16; Jer 31:31-34)
God created the model community by making a covenant with Noah, Abram, David
and others.
3.    Upper Room (John 20:19-20; Acts 2:1, 42-47)  The natural response of
the disciples was to gather together. Remember that Jesus promised "Whenever
2 or 3 are gathered in my name, I will be with them (Mt 18:20). Also the
author of Hebrews warns us "not to forsake gathering together (Heb. 10:25)

Sociological Needs are among the reasons we use small groups to help find real life
1.    Loss of extended family  Families are smaller, more geographically
dispersed, and with less contact between generations and distant branches.
For many it is a case of wedding and funeral contact.
2.    Loss of the neighborhood ("Where everybody knows your name.") With
commuting to distant jobs, diminishing involvement in local events and
groups, with far more frequent moves, fewer of us know our neighbors, or
have social contact with them.
3.    Loss of security of a lifetime job.  What had been the norm has become
the exception. We are far less likely to spend our entire working life in
one career, let alone one company. The relationships we have with co-workers
are shallower, and often overlaid with competition not only for promotions,
but for keeping a position.

If you think you would like to explore the place "life groups" could have in your life, feel free to contact us. We'd love to help you find a
place in a group.
